Marcus Klay

Marcus was born in november 1979 in Vienna, Austria. In his early years he entered the nightlife and the world of electronic music. He travelled the world and gained experiences at loads of clubbings. As a result of the love for electronic music he spent his money on buying his favourite DJ-equipment and started to learn, learn, learn.

His DJ-carrer brought him to the best clubs and bars in and around Vienna and featured his work on multiple international radio shows as well as on electronic music magazine Cuepoint.tv and many more.

He got many requests for guest mixes to rock some of the best shows (for example "Progressive World", "Brown Eyed Boyz", "Proton Radio Featured Artist", "Proton Radio GT", "Nueva Radio", "Hed Kandi",...) on electronic music radio stations like Proton Radio, Push.fm or Play.fm for which he received immense feedback. Marcus got an unique reputation due to his focus on long and perfect "in-beat" transitions combined with massive effects and melodic sound. His sets include upfront pearls as well as carefully selected, not too often plaxed picks to create that special vibe.

His style can be described as Underground Electronic Music from Deep to Peak, without losing the love for melodies at any time. He refuses to play Minimal or Commercial Electro and doesn´t put too many vocals into his mixes. His sets are created to get people dancing instead of singing. Many people forgot how far music can take them, but this viennese guy has got that special something and shares it through his personality & sound. Whenever Marcus rocks behind the dj-booth, he surprises the crowd with tracks they never heard before.

In 2008, together with two friends, he hosted the "Kindergarten Club" events @ Utopia Vienna, where he shared the decks with his favourite DJs like Eelke Kleijn and Add2Basket.

At the end of 2009, Marcus decided that is was about time to go one step further. He felt the need of putting his own vibes, his own feelings into tracks and built up a quality home studio at his flat. Prepare for some massive musical experiences in the near future and watch out for his work which will make you feel what he lives.

At the moment Marcus is working on a new project to bring Underground House & Techno music to a viennese club as well as building up a proper home studio. In September 2010 Marcus will join forces with hungarian DJ/Producer Add2Basket and bring "PUNCH", a new clubbing experience to Vienna.

Besides that, due to the success of his mixes for the station, he was asked to host his own monthly radio show on Proton Radio. Of course that was a huge honour and Marcus was in. The show is called Positive Notes and airs every 4th thursday 8 AM US Eastern / 2 PM CET.

2010 started awesome for Marcus as on January 1st his lovely baby boy Leevi was born.
